Blood pressure is one of the most important health metric measurements. Checking the blood pressure only at the doctor's office is often not enough. It is quite important to monitor the blood pressure regularly to make an earlier diagnosis or identify pre-hypertension. According to the statistics, many people do not know they have high blood pressure and often find out after they have had a heart attack, a stroke or worse. About one in three (33.5%) U.S. adults have high blood pressure.
According to Blood Pressure Society, blood pressure is consisted of two numbers or levels. The first (or top) number is the systolic blood pressure. It is the highest level that blood pressure reaches when heart beats. The second (or bottom) number is the diastolic blood pressure. It is the lowest level that the blood pressure reaches as the heart relaxes between beats.
People usually check their blood pressure randomly without making any note. In the best case, they may take some notes. This doesn't help to monitor the trend of blood pressure. In order to solve this problem, we have developed MyHeart (blood pressure) as simple, user-friendly and easy-to-use app so that one can simply record his/her blood pressure reading.
